Could you volunteer with the YCAA?

The YCAA has been very active in Yeovil for the past 18 years. It has earned a fine reputation through the work of its arts-loving volunteers. This charity earns its revenue by administering the international writing competition the Yeovil Literary Prize.  After paying significant prize money and respected judges from the literary world, we not only bring speakers to our YCAA events (in normal years!) and support art projects locally, we also award grants of up to £500 to talented young people from our local area. They could be studying the arts in all its varied forms or need a little help for tuition and other fees.

Yeovil is known for its excellent early years theatre skills tuition and training, so when young people need help to move on, that’s when the YCAA helps.

How you can Help

Now we need some help ourselves to ensure our good, extremely varied and interesting work can continue.  There is enormous pleasure to be gained from any help, skills or advice someone like you could bring to this open, friendly arts organisation.

We have a loyal membership and we hope to expand this in the future.  Our very popular book group meets each month and discusses a wide range of books in a very friendly way.  It’s a super social event!

We are partners in the Yeovil Literary Festival where we encourage everyone to meet thinkers, writers and entertainers in the literary world.

The people who we think would love to be part of our organisation could be retired, with time to give and skills they would like to continue using. Some fresh, new ideas that will boost our local arts after a numbing year would be very welcome.

To find out more and apply, send an email to admin@yeovilprize.co.uk.  We would love to hear from you.
